In Pasadena, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. Wing-and-pizza shops across California do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

My daughter took her dad here for father's day. It was a great vibe, we sat outdoors, they had tv so he could watch the word cup. The food and drink orders came out in pretty quickly. I had the wings in hot honey bbq, my husband had the meatball sub which came with fries and our daughter had a 10 inch pizza, which took longer but the freshness, flavor, and quality of the meal was there.

This was a mixed experience. The servers were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We sat at a street-side table as a group of three. I appreciated the effort because we ordered a Bacon Burger without cheese, Southern Rub party chicken, and pesto pasta with chicken. The pesto pasta was the only properly prepared dish. The burger came with cheese, which we had to send back. The chef partially wiped off the cheese and returned it, but I luckily noticed the cheese again, preventing a dairy allergy reaction for my child. The party wings, however, were disappointing—they were full of feathers, looked dehydrated, and lacked seasoning. Fortunately, our server was excellent. She advocated for us and returned with seasoned, edible-looking chicken, and the burger was remade. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you pay close attention to details. It’s not the service that’s the issue, but rather a lack of integrity from the chefs.

Our first dining experience at Rocco’s Pasadena was truly unfortunate and left us feeling taken advantage of as guests. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that hospitality is not a priority here. The hostess, who is supposed to set the tone for the entire dining experience was unenthusiastic, did not smile, and made no effort to be welcoming. For a small party of 2, she handed us menus and told us to find our own table. At that point, one has to wonder what the purpose of having a host even is. It later became apparent that the hostess was also our server, which unfortunately explained a lot. The service throughout the meal was completely lifeless not a single smile, no engagement, and no sense of urgency or care. To make matters worse, two small 10-inch pizzas took over one hour to arrive. When the check came, the experience went from disappointing to outright frustrating. An automatic 18% gratuity was added to our bill for a party of only two despite the extremely poor service. While this policy is apparently mentioned on the menu, it does not make it acceptable. I typically tip a generous 20%-25% when service is good and deserved. On top of that, we were informed that any

Came here to eat with a friend and from the door a darker complexion Hispanic or middle eastern man walked past and ignored us to go laugh and joke with patrons was strike 1 while we waited. Didn’t say “hi” or “one moment someone’s coming to help”. Strike two was the beautiful Asian woman that came seemed discriminatory when she walked up and looked me down and up and said “for 2?” We said yes and she said “ok pick whatever seats you want” and walked away lol. So at that point me and my friend started googling other food places with bars and we luckily found an amazing bbq spot called Crafts one door away and the service from the door was dramatically different and very respectful. As an lgbt / Black person I can pin point discrimination from the door and it was sad we drove 20 minutes to try this beautiful place just to have horrible service that made us feel uncomfortable eating due to potentially risking out health and safety eating somewhere that didn’t want us there. Crafts has amazing smoked brisket fries and an amazing full menu for people who may feel the same as I did walking in, this is a alternative right next door with good service 💕I uploaded photos we took of the bbq

We came into Rocco’s Tavern in Pasadena and had an amazing experience! I ordered an extra, extra spicy Bloody Mary after a long night of partying the day before and wow, it totally hit the spot! They make it perfectly spicy and flavorful. The service was great we sat at the bar, and the bartender was super attentive, keeping the drinks and good vibes flowing. I didn’t even get a chance to snap a photo of my pepperoni and jalapeño pizza because I devoured it so fast it was that good! My husband had the shrimp tacos and loved them too. It’s such a fun place to watch sports — there are TVs everywhere, so no matter where you sit, you’ve got a great view of the games. This was our second time coming here, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. Quick service, great food, and a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend Rocco’s Tavern for drinks, bites, and game days! 🍕🍹🏈
